The successful among us bargain with the future (los exitosos entre nostros negocian con el futuro). A great idea begins to emerge taking even more clearly articulated form in ever more clearly articulated stories (una gran idea comienza a surgir asumiendo una forma aún más clara articulada en historias cada vez más claramente articuladas). What's the difference between the successful and the unsuccessful? (¿cuál es la diferencia el exitoso y fracasado?). Rich people still divorce each other and alienate themselves from their children and suffer from existential angst and develop cancer and dementia and die alone and unloved (las personas ricas aún se divorcian y se alinean de sus hijos y sufren de angustia existencial y desarrollan cáncer y demencia y mueren solos y sin amor). Recovering addicts cursed with money blow it all in a frenzy of snorting and drunkenness (viciosos en recuperación malditos con dinero explotan todo en un frenesí de inhalar y embriaguez). And boredom weighs heavily on people who have nothing to do (y el aburrimiento pesa mucho más en quien no tiene que hacer). Aim up (mira hacia arriba). Pay attention (presta atención). Fix what you can fix (arregla lo que puedas arreglar). Don't be arrogant in your knowledge (no seas arrogante con tu conocimiento). Strive for humility, because totalitarian pride manifests itself in intolerance, oppression, torture and death (busca la humildad, pues el orgullo totalitário se manifesta en la intolerancia, opresión, tortura y muerte). Become aware of your own insufficiency - your cowardice, malevolence, resentment and hatred (toma conciencia de tu propia influencia- tu cobardía, malevolencia, resentimento y odio). Expedience is the following of blind impulse (la conveniencia es el seguimiento del impulso ciego). It's short-term gain (es una ganancia a corto plazo). It's narrow, and selfish (es estrecho, es egoísta). It lies to get its way (mientes para conseguir lo que quieres). It takes nothing into account (no llevas nada en consideración). It's immature and irresponsible (es inmaduro e irresponsable). Meaning happens when that dance has become so intense that all the horrors of the past, all the terrible struggle engaged in by all of life and all of humanity to that moment becomes a necessary and worthwhile part of the increasingly successful attempt to build something truly Mighty and Good (el significado sucede cuando aquel baile se vuelve tan intenso que todos los horrores del pasado, toda la terrible lucha trabada por toda la vida y toda la humanidad hasta aquel momento se convierte en una parte valiosa del intento cada vez más exitosa de construir algo verdaderamente poderoso y bueno). Meaning is the ultimate balance between, on the one hand, the chaos of transformation and possibility, and on the other, the discipline of pristine order whose purpose is to produce out of the attendant chaos a new order that will be even more immaculate and capable of bringing forth a still more balanced and productive chaos and order (el significado es el equilibrio final entre, por un lado, el caos de la transformación y de la posibilidad y, por otro, la disciplina del orden primitivo, cuyo propósito es producir, a partir del caos que lo acompaña, un nuevo orden que será aún más inmaculado y capaz de traer a tona un caos y orden aún más equilibrados y productivos). Meaning is the Way, the path of life more abundant, the place you live when you are guided by Love and speaking Truth and when nothing you want or could possibly want takes any precedent over precisely that (el significado es el Camino, el caminno de la vida más abundante, el lugar en el cual vives cuando es guiado por el Amor y hablando la Verdad y cuando nada de lo que quieres o pudieras querer tiene precedente precisamente sobre eso). Do what is meaningful, not what is expedient (haz algo que sea significativo, no lo conveniente). To identify what is meaningful, check if your heart feels good (para identificar que es lo significativo, verifica si tu corazón se siente bien). When you do something that fills your heart you're doing something meaningful (cuando haces algo que llena tu corazón, estás haciendo algo significativo).
