Today, my favorite Rule (hoy, mi Regla favorita). 8- Tell the truth or, at least, don't lie (di la verdad, o por lo menos, no mientas). What should you do, when you don't know what to do? (¿qué deberías hacer cuando no sabes que hacer?). Tell the truth (decir la verdad). This is the simplest answer (esta es la respuesta más simple). Taking the easy way out or telling the truth (agarrar el camino más fácil o decir la verdad). Those are not merely two different choices (esas no son sólo dos opciones diferentes). They are different pathways through life (son caminos diferentes a lo largo de la vida). They are utterly different ways of existing (son maneras totalmente diferentes de existir). Even if the horror of seeing it damages our consciousness and half-blinds us (aunque el horror de verlo perjudique nuestra conciencia y nos ciegue por la mitad). Truth reduces the terrible complexity of a man to the simplicity of his word so that he can become a partner, rather than an enemy (la verdad reduce la terrible complejidad de un hombre la simplicidad de su palabra para que el pueda convertisrse un compañero,en lugar de un enemigo). Truth makes the past truly past and makes the best use of the future's possibilities (la verdad convierte el pasado verdaderamente pasado y hace el mejor uso de las posibilidades del futuro). Truth is the ultimate, inexhaustible natural resource (la verdad es el recurso natural supremo e inagotable). It's the light in the darkness (es la luz en la oscuridad). See the truth (ve la verdad). Tell the truth (di la verdad). If your life is not what it could be, try telling the truth (si tu vida no es lo que podría ser, intenta decir la verdad). If you cling desperately to an ideology or wallow in nihilism, try telling the truth (si te apegas desesperadamente a una ideologia o te hundes en el nihilismo, intenta decir la verdad). If you feel weak and rejected, and desperate, and confused, try telling the truth (si te sientes débil y rechazado, desesperado y confuso, intenta decir la verdad). In Paradise, everyone speaks the truth (en el Paraíso todos dicen la verdad). That is what makes it Paradise (eso es lo que hace que sea el Paraíso). Tell the truth.
