Welcome back to the 12 Rules for Life, by Jordan Peterson (bienvenido otra ves a las 12 Reglas para la Vida, de Jordan Peterson). 1- Stand up straight, with your shoulders back (permanece de pie recto con los hombros para atrás). 2- Treat yourself as if you are someone you're responsible for (trátate como alguien por el cual eres responsable de ayudar). 3- Make friends with people who want the best for you (haz amistades con las personas que quieren lo mejor para ti). The desire to improve is the precondition for progress (el deseo de mejorar es el pré-requisito para el progreso). If you have a friend whose friendship you wouldn't recommend to your sister or your father, or your son, why would you have such a friend for yourself? (si tiene un amigo que su amistad no la recomendarías para tu hermana o padre, o tu hijo, porque por qué tendrías este amigo para ti mismo?). You might say, "out of loyalty" (puedes decir "por lealtad). Loyalty is not identical to stupidity (la lealtad no es identica a la estupidez). Loyalty must be negotiated fairly and honestly (la lealtad debe ser negociada justamente y honestamente). Friendship is a reciprocal arrangement (la amistad es un arreglo recíproco). You are not morally obliged to support someone who is making the world a worse place (no eres moralmente obligado a ayudar a alguien que está haciendo del mundo un lugar peor). Quite the opposite (bien lo opuesto). You should choose people who want things to be better, not worse (debrías escoger personas que quieren que las cosas sean mejores, no peores). It's a good thing not a selfish thing to choose people who are good for you (es una cosa buena y no egoísta escoger personas que son buenas para ti). It's appropriate and praiseworthy to associate with people whose lives would be improved if they saw your life improved (es apropriado y loable associarse a las personas cuyas vidas mejorarían si vieran su vida mejorada). If you surround yourself with people who support your upward aim they will not tolerate your cynicism and destructiveness (si te rodeas de personas que apoyan tu objetivo ascendente, ella no tolerarán tu cinismo y destructividad). They will instead encourage you when you do good for yourself and others and punish you carefully when you do not (en lugar de eso, ellos te alientarán cuando hagas el bien para ti mismo y para los otros y te reprenderán cuando no lo hagas).
