Hello, my friend! How are you? If you're out of time or "in a rush", go to the last paragraph of this text for a fast answer.
In times of immediate responses and connection 24 hours a day, talking about long-term transformation is a risk! But… at Você Aprende Agora we believe you can (and must!) dream big, and make a daily effort to get better every day. This is our mission - seeing you speaking English and being a Leader wherever you go. "The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership" was written by John Maxwell in 1998, and its goal is to improve your skills as a Leader.
Maxwell starts this book talking about the first law: the law of the lid. He says our leadership ability is the lid that determines our level of effectiveness. "Without leadership ability, a person's impact is only a fraction of what it could be with good leadership". What does he want to say with it?
"The higher you want to climb, the more you need leadership". The author highlights the importance of being someone who influences and know how to lead others. He presents a chart explaining that the more you dedicate to your leadership ability, the more effective you become. This time we start thinking about our people skills, our planning, our vision, and our results. I invite you to rate each of these areas from 1 to 5 and start working on them.
The Law of the Lid is the first one, and it has to do with your own leadership ability right now. Please, comment here what your 3 major goals are. Which ones require the cooperation of other people? Comment here, my friend. I want to see your thoughts. See you next class!
