He's now living in South Korea (él ahora esta viviendo en Corea del Sur). We asked him "How did you end up living in Seoul?" (le preguntamos "¿cómo terminaste viviendo en Seúl?"). Dan: "Well, it's a long story! (Dan: "bueno, es una larga historia"!). Before I came here I spent 3 years working for a small company in Tokyo while I finished doing my master's in business (antes de venir aquí, pasé 3 años trabajando para una pequeña empresa en Tokio mientras terminaba de hacer mi maestría en negocios). To be honest I wasn't planning on leaving or anything (para ser honesto, no estaba planeando irme ni nada). But one day I happened to be in the office and one of the salespeople was looking at job ads online (pero un día estaba en la oficina y uno de los vendedores miraba anuncios de trabajo en línea). He knew I was considering going to South Korea someday you see, my mother's South Korean and I've always been interested in the culture and everything (sabía que estaba considerando ir a Corea del Sur algún día, mi madre es surcoreana y siempre me ha interesado la cultura y todo lo demás). And anyway, he leaned over and said "Dan, this seems to be the perfect job for you. Check this out." (y de todos modos, se inclinó y dijo "Dan, este parece ser el trabajo perfecto para ti. mira esto"). I looked at the ad and I remember thinking "Should I bother to apply?" (miré el anuncio y recuerdo haber pensado "¿debo molestarme en aplicar?"). But I decided to go for it even though I didn't expect to get it and to make a long story short I got the job (pero decidí apostarlo aunque no esperaba obtenerlo y, para abreviar, conseguí el trabajo). The company offered transfer me to Seoul and they agreed to pay for my Korean language lessons (la companía me ofreció transferirme a Seúl y acordaron pagar mis lecciones de coreano). I started working here two months later (empecé a trabajar aquí dos meses después). And the rest is history (y el resto es historia). I mean, I miss living in Japan but you can't have it both ways, I guess (quiero decir, echo de menos vivir en Japón, pero no se puede tener las dos cosas, supongo). Actually, I can't imagine living anywhere else now! (en realidad, ¡no puedo imaginar vivir en otro lado ahora!). How did Dan end up living in Seoul? (¿cómo terminó Dan viviendo en Seúl?).
